Most laboratories go quiet the moment a case leaves the surgery. A case at Orvellan moves through five recorded stages, and you are notified at each one.
Five stages, each one visible
01
Scan received
Your file enters the queue within minutes of upload. We check margin clarity and occlusal clearance before anything else happens, and tell you the same day if a rescan would save time later.
02
Design
A technician designs the restoration and sends the proposal as images you can open on a phone between patients. Nothing is milled until you have seen it.
03
Approval
Approve or annotate from wherever you are. No software to install and no account to create — the link is enough.
04
Manufacture
Milled and finished in-house. Material, shade and batch are recorded against the case, so a remake never begins from guesswork.
05
Dispatch
Marked dispatched the moment it leaves the bench, with tracking sent to you rather than waited for.
Intake
How cases reach us
Three routes in, none of which need special software or a training session.
Direct from your scanner
Connect an iTero or 3Shape Trios once and send cases from the scanner as you already do.
STL and CBCT upload
Drag files straight into your account. Standard formats, no conversion step at your end.
Photographs from a phone
Shade references and pre-op photographs attach to the case from the camera roll.
Drop files to attach
STL · PLY · DCM · JPG
Illustration only. Real cases are sent through your scanner connection or your account, never through this page.
13 — Checks
What gets checked, and when
A case is inspected at four points rather than once at the end. Catching a problem at design costs an hour; catching it after milling costs a remake and a patient appointment.
On intake
Scan quality
Margin clarity, occlusal clearance and whether the antagonist and bite registration are actually present. This is the check that decides whether a rescan is worth asking for, and it happens the same day rather than after the case has sat in a queue.
At design
Contacts and emergence
Proximal contacts, occlusal scheme and emergence profile are checked against the opposing arch in software before anything is milled. The proposal you approve is the geometry that gets made.
After milling
Fit on the model
Seated on the printed or milled model and checked for rock, marginal gap and interproximal tightness. A restoration that will not seat here will not seat in the mouth.
Before dispatch
Surface and shade
Glaze, polish and shade checked under corrected lighting against the prescribed reference. Shade taken under a surgery light and shade checked under a laboratory light are not the same measurement, which is why the reference travels with the case.
Every check is recorded against the case, so the record shows who looked at it and when — not only that it passed.
